The title of the current art glass show at the renowned Habatat Gallery in Royal Oak, tells the whole story in its title : Not Grandma's Glass – Yet!

When most people think of glass art, stained glass windows, refined glassware and colorful vases typically spring to mind — pieces that serve either decorative or practical purposes, the sort of artwork your grandmother might collect.

ROYAL OAK — Habatat Galleries, a Royal Oak gallery founded in 1971 that specializes in glass, took a virtual approach to 2021 with 12 special exhibits — one per month — that showcase unique approaches to the art of glass under the title of “Not Grandma’s Glass.”

That’s no moon – that Death Star is a mixed-media glass artwork.

Artist to Artist is a new feature designed to present a behind the- scenes glimpse into artists’ beliefs, feelings, and practices and to provide a showcase for some of their work.
